The truth can hurt but it is how we grow!
Hey everyone!
So this is my first week as #elderboyd part 2! This week has been good! I had fun coming back to Oregon. I got to see my old companion, Elder Baker, because he got to drive me to my new area in Tillamook.
I'm in a 4 Elder apartment and it is fun but different. My companion is Elder Dawe and we have fun. So yes there are 4 Elders in the same ward and it is nice but different. We really do have a good time and work hard. We can't do normal mission work like we used to because of COVID. We do a lot of videos and a lot of online Facebook proselyting.

I found a couple of cool things to share with you this week:
Today I saw big bag of marshmallows and I thought if I eat them I might get full but I wouldn’t be taking care of my body with good nutrition. It reminded me of Elder Uchtdorf’s talk where people tried to feed starving deer with hay and it did fill their belly with hay but most of the deer died because there was no nourishment. Sometimes we all feel like this. That was me a lot back at home. I would fill my time with YouTube or movies but that didn’t nourish me. I was even trying to read the scriptures and tried to do my part but there was no nourishment because I was just speeding through it instead of quietly listening to what God needed me to learn. Maybe we all need help with nourishment. We need to prepare ourselves to hear God by repenting or forgiving someone or just loving and serving our neighbor. When many of us pray we say the words and quickly get into bed to call it a night. This is not wrong but I will say if you pray and wait and listen for a couple of minutes you will feel what Heavenly Father is trying to tell you because he speaks in a still, small voice. You will not feel it as strong if you don’t take the time to quietly listen.
Alma 30:6-60 is a good read. It reminds me of what we are seeing in the last days. It is a crazy world but we can do our part by doing little things. Putting quotes on our Instagram posts and sharing what we know and helping people see what good there is. Just because we live in Utah doesn’t mean people know what the church is. And some of us fall away because we feel it isn’t good for us and we start listening more to what the world wants us to hear instead of what God wants us to hear. But we can help people who feel that way come back. It is like me going out on the street and picking up trash...that is good but it would be better if other people came with me and I showed them how good it felt to pick up trash and do something good! Then there are more of us to share that good feeling with others!
